JOHN HARING AND HOBOKEN POLITICS

Well isn't my face red.

Some of you may remember a while back that I announced that I had lowered myself to get involved in politics by taking on a contract to sing and record takeoffs of two Frank Sinatra songs for a campaign in Hoboken, New Jersey.

Well, we bought the rights, rewrote the lyrics, recorded the songs and they went over better than expected when played at rallies and other events and the candidate won by a mere 167 votes.  Many attribute his win to my Sinatra songs and their appeal to the older voters in the town where Sinatra was born.

That would have been a great story and certainly a feather in my cap had the story ended there.  But, if you've heard this morning's news, you probably know that Peter Cammarano, newly sworn-in mayor of Hoboken and my client for the songs, was arrested in a major government corruption sting along with 43 others.

Isn't my face red.

And to make matters worse, he hadn't paid his bill yet!
